On our way ...

It's currently 5.55 am (Dubai time) which is 12.55 pm (Melbourne time).

We began our journey by being picked up in a black Jaguar for our transfer to the airport.  Felt pretty swish sitting in the back of that beautiful car.

Two flights down so far and I have to say that I am pretty impressed with Emirates. The plane was comfortable and clean.  They are efficient and have made the connections easy to manage. Even the food is pretty good. Our first flight wasn't full so we were lucky to have a row of 4 seats to ourselves. So far we have been travelling for about 17 hours and are waiting in Dubai airport for our final flight to Cairo.

Changi airport is always amazing.  Incredible floral displays,  large glittering shopping malls, outdoor gardens that you can walk through even in the middle of the night which was when we were there.

Dubai airport is equally impressive.  It is huge! We were stopped at an external gate and then bussed to the terminal building. Then we walked from the B gates where we arrived to our gate for our flight to Cairo which was C2. A nice long walk after having been on planes for 15 hours!

Now we wait for our boarding call ... although Dubai airport is a silent airport with no announcements ... so we will just need to be alert for our boarding time. The lounge area we are sitting in has reclining seats for you to sit in so Ian is currently snoring while we wait.

Next stop Egypt!
